Stingray cooking - Bunjarr

Camp oven Damper and Billy Tea

Relax after a day of learning with the local Elders and Traditional Custodians with homemade damper cooked in the camp oven. Wash it down with a hot cuppa tea straight from the old billycan, just like the old days.

Authentic Aboriginal Cooking techniques

Harold shows how the old ladies from Lockhart River in Far North QLD taught him in the 1980's how to make "bunjarr', a meal from the cooked flesh of the stingray "gunthurru".
